Tie rod end

I am in the middle of changing my cv joint on the driver's side, and when I go to tighten the nut to my outer tie rod end where it fits into the steering nuckle, and when I tighten the nut the threaded part of the tie rod turns as well - cannot tighten! Is the tie rod bad, or am I doing something wrong?

you need an allen wrench, put it in the nut and hold it while you turn the wrench.
