3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
if youre talking about the K-Sport Kontrol Pro Coilovers:
it depends ... you can get custom spring rates, so it will ride however you want -- i dont recommend getting the stock rates - they will probably be more stiff than your current setup, however
if youre talking about the K-Sport Lowering Springs:
ive heard that theyre a bit mushy, but ive never been in a car with them before

well the 2 big advantages with the k-sports is that u can get the drop u want and u can get the stiffness u want. if ya have the money for them and theh versitility of them matters to ya then go for it.
They are stiff but since that is what gives you the flat cornering, you gotta give some to get some. The normal ones on soft would probably be soft enough to where they feel like tokiko struts and lowering springs so you can retain some "comfort". But set for performance they are no fun. Just Super amounts of Fun!

if you do decide on coilovers then a 7/5 spring rate is as comfortable as you going to get while still keeping balance... it's still stiffer than tokicos so it's up to you do you care for the looks then 7/5 is it or deal with uneven fender gaps all around with strut/spring setup

Exactly, you gotta give something up to get something. Plus search, K-Sports have been discussed to death.

what are the factory k-sport rates? i think people have gone more agressive than 7/5 here, like maybe Allen or Milt, but im not sure

defaults keep changing once was 9/5 and last time I checked it was at 10/5... I dont really like the 10/5 default rate they got now but 9/5 is ok personally I would do 9/7 if I actually didnt give a fuck what my lady friends sayso 7/5 it was...
On a side note the default rates for the lexus es300 for the same year is 7/5 weird lol it is a v6 on all of them so one would figure they would do 9/5 and then 7/5 for camrys since most are 4-bangers... that says something, they figured lexus still want that comfort so they already provide them with a 7/5 rate for defaults, well from what I can remember!!!
