3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Anybody here read modified magazine, well there's a section in the back of every issue called readers rides where the choose 2 rides and give them each a page. 2 issues ago there was a 94 turbo 5sfe camry coupe in it. But, pretty much what im trying to say is that gen 3 and 4 camrys need to be recognized within the import tuning community. Pickup a car modfying magazine whether its super street, import tuner, modified, performance auto & sound or turbo and, i gaurentee you an evo will be on the cover 7 out of 10 times and if its not an evo its a 350z. The point is we should enter our camry's into magazine's and try and let people know that camry's arent just a grandma's car.
its readersrides@modified.com and just provide a modification spec sheet and a few pics of the interior, exterior and engine bay.

Are you guys serious? You guys are totally forgetting swegyptian's feature in Modified a few months back >.> Well, that, and the reason evos and 350s are easy feature cars, is because they have industry bolt on support, and they're pretty quick out of the box.
^and because people actually modify them... lets look at the facts here, there really arent many magazine worthy camrys here on TN... it sucks, but you have to sink big money to make it into a mag.
most people here i know of would rather spend the money to list in a magazine on making the car better in some way. besides if i had the money to make a mag worthy car, it prolly wouldnt be a camry.
modified magazine is looking for *daily driven* cars that have a story behind them. The editor stated in the last issue that they arent looking for the car with the most jdm goodies or a sponsored show car, they're looking for an everyday car that is modified. I see alot of good looking camry's on this site: rdizzle, pnrc_chrnmg, eye8pussies, bigbird, bustarice, grkballaG, woody, alotezza18

Those people that get featured on the cover or a few pages inside, at least from what I read actually spend loads of cash on their car and are constantly out there going to meets and shows...
When I had my camry I was going cheap every which way I could up until i wanted to go turbo. Only reason I dropped out was becuase everyone I asked didnt wanna do the piping work for me. The one guy that wanted to do it wanted over 750 bucks... thats ridiculous.
Both alex and Ufoz put some good money into thier cars, more than anyone here would. Tony's camry I would put on the cover of a mag... not because its a camry but because i know what it takes to do that to a camry. lol. so yea its bias but whatever.
Anyway... Yea i think its a great idea to submit some of the camry's on this board to the reader ride sections... But I think if more people could go out to the shows it would do the community more justice, especially since thats where companies and mags hang....
