Grey substance

I have a 4 door 1993 V6LE Camry manufactured in Japan.

Both my rear doors are leaking a sticky grey substance. The substance is very thick and will not run but it is oozing out between the interior panel and the metal along the rear door where it curves for the rear wheel well. This started a few years ago and I would clean it with paint thinner. It will be good for another year before there is so much that the grey substance starts to stick to the black seal on the body.

Anyone knows what this grey stuff is and why it started to leak after 10 or 12 years?

Thanks in advance

Only thing I can think of is grease leaking out of the door drain holes.

id remove the door panel and take a look at it, could be something related with the power window motor.

I have that too, but mine is black goo, and only on the passenger rear door.

Believe that's the sealer they use with the weather stripping on the doors. When the weather is hot, the sealer heats up, expands and oozes out. It's kind of waxy and greasy at the same time. I have to clean it off the inner body seal periodically. Don't know why you didn't see it before 10-12 years. I noticed it pretty early on with my '95. Didn't think much of it because I had the same thing with my 86 VW GLI. Have you started parking outside in teh heat more lately when you used to be garaged more perhaps??

Had the same problem, just cleaned it off with solvent. Must be a sealer, not worried enough to take the door apart.
