machine shop gave me wrong rings.

they are for 75-80 celica, not my 972.2l camry, now have to either wait for them to mail new ones or drive 150miles to pick up new ones, shop recommended and had better prices than anyone local here in sticksville if you were wondering why I went so far for the work.

Several of the machine shops that I once used routinely cut the valves or the valves seats incorrectly, so that there wouldn't be any compression. I would put the entire engine back together, and get very frustrated because it wouldn't fire up. ...
Couldn't be too confident about a compression test, with new rings, pistons.

Eventually, pulled the heads and had them reworked. ...Didn't have time to argue with the shop .... just found someplace else to get the heads worked on.

Where are you in West Texas? .... Big Bend is great.

With gas so high these days, having the rings mailed may be the cheapest route. Keep the celica rings and sell them on Ebay for your trouble.

hoping steve at machine shop sends me new ones and I will drop the others by the shop next time I am over his way. Hopefully, he will pay shipping and send bearing no charge and just let me bring the wrong ones back in couple weeks.
