Camry accelerates slowly?

I have a 93 Camry 4 cylinder 190,000 miles. I went to work and it ran fine. I went to go to lunch and when I accelerate it accelerates slowly and when it shifts it shifts hard. At first I though it was the transmission but I believe its not getting the power from the engine. In neutral and park it accelerates fine. Anyone have any idea where to start. I just had the timing belt replaced 200 miles before.

Maybe 'cause it has 190,000 miles? Maybe it is time to overhaul the engine.

actually to me that does sound like the tranny. if its reving(accelerating) in nutral and park ok then id have to say tranny. that may be a problem with the torque converter(assuming its an auto). i had a very similar problem with my old car(not a camry) and thats what it was. does the motor sounds bogged down? does this happen under light and heavy accerleration? does it hesitate or"buck"?

it makes sense just fine, hes just using the wrong terminology...or hes crazy . 190K miles is not a lot for a camry. these things will last well past 200K.

the transmission cant just magically not get the power from the engine ... they are mechanically connected

if the gears are slipping, you would notice it ... or maybe there is a bad sensor ... otherwise your car is probably fine

I just changed the fluid 200 miles ago. I changed the filter and fluid at 112,000 this time I only changed the fluid.

I am getting ready to leave work and I will not be able to check this again until Monday.
Thanks for the help. I hope it not the trany. I have had this car 15 years. It has been a great car.
I just replaced the timing belt 2 weeks ago

If the tranny is slipping, it's usually pretty apparent and acts differently from a car that has no power.

did this start happening RIGHT now? or after the timing belt change?

I'm putting my money on the fact that the timing belt is off by a tooth so you're timing is off, thus the lack of power
