3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Took a quick snap of them together on my way back from work. I'm doing a direct Car-swap cause my Cam was getting tired, but I wasn't tired of my cam .
My current Cam is on the right : '98 Camry CE 5SFE with 295 000Km - For Sale
My new Cam is on the left : '98 Camry LE 5SFE with 119 000Km - 5850$ (including roof job)
It's sitting oustide the body shop right now, waiting to get the roof repainted because of rust at the top of the windshield, a 700$ job, I only pay 350$. I just couldn't drive past this deal any longer, 5850$ is a DAMN good price for a Camry with such low mileage around here, roof job or not. Car was originaly sold 5500$. Got a pile of Dealer maintenance invoices, some repairs, rust treatment for every year since 2000, the works. Car drives like a dream.
Planned mods :
I'll swap my gold emblems and hidden hitch
Needs a CD player
Window tint : 10% back, 30-35% front, 75-80% windshield not to annoy the cops too much...
Clear Corners
Later : Set of coilovers and 18" 5 spokes lipped rims
Hopefully I can get my hands on a TRD bodykit...
No performance mods planned on the 5SFE unless I change my mind or somebody puts a gun to my head and forces me to.
Both cars are dirty, sorry.

if you stagger the tint that much, its gonna look really shitty
just do 30% all around, or 35/25
I've though about that too, but a windshield tinted at 30% is sure to get me shit...still debating. There are two things I don't like about my current car, the staggered tint and the wheels, but I bought it as is...I want to significantly reduce the staggering, or go all around, but then the windshield will be a problem.

I think slightly tinted windshields look pretty good
The LE is black too!

I see a lot of cars with 70-80% (of light going through) windshield around here, it doesn't make much of a difference even when driving at night, but from outside it makes for a more even style, the cars look really good at night.

No haha I don't even have the keys yet! This body shop is really close to where I live, I didn't even know it had been sent there until tuesday this week when the guy I bought it from called me to let me know it was in for work. I just snapped a couple shots of her on my way home
