Try searching...it was just discussed the other day in a thread in this section.

Take all these 'myths' that you've heard and throw them out the window and use any name brand oil you like.

I was using Castrol GTX too, then made the switch straight over to Mobil 1 High Mileage, car runs as smooth as butter.

Just switch it if you want. Nothing special you need to do.

honest to god- IMO.. it doesn't really do anything different from dino oil. - well at least my butt doesn't seem to think so..

BUT- i am running on ROYAL PURPLE! cuz it helps minimize that stupid clicking 5S engines make.

Mobil1 high mileage synthetic is good shiz...and same 20 dollar 5 quart jug as the regular synthetic but with additives. it used to be more expensive but it costs the same now.

but i think the high mileage only comes in 10w-30 and not 5w-30 but to me thats fine and even better.

3rd Generation

The best way I've heard it described was that it sounds kinda like an old singer sewing machine, lol. I adjusted the valves on my 4 cylinder, and it really didn't help much. I've heard a few other gen 3/3.5 camry's and they sound about the same.
