i was thinking that i want to change to a synthetic oil. im using castrol gtx now but figure synthetic would be better but ive heard that u cant just do a change from regular oil to synthetic or they will mix not sure how true this is but wuts ur opinions on this topic? ive seen a synthetic blend im not sure if this any better.
i went over to mobil 1 synthetic after i bought my 94 last year and i've never had any problems with it, now i dont know what the last owner was putting in but i can safely bet that dude was not willing to spend the $$ to put synthetic in
Mobil1 high mileage synthetic is good shiz...and same 20 dollar 5 quart jug as the regular synthetic but with additives. it used to be more expensive but it costs the same now.
but i think the high mileage only comes in 10w-30 and not 5w-30 but to me thats fine and even better.
The best way I've heard it described was that it sounds kinda like an old singer sewing machine, lol. I adjusted the valves on my 4 cylinder, and it really didn't help much. I've heard a few other gen 3/3.5 camry's and they sound about the same.
