4th Generation A little front end damage question??

Hi; Is the air box behind the front bumper (drivers side, lower left) necessary if removed. Seems like I popped a 5 gallon can while at speed and concaved the fascia in that area. The bumper is now straightened out but that air box was the casualty and although the car performs just fine, I'm wondering if it's a must have item. Thanks, Frank

Well, you could always upgrade to a Cold Air intake!

The box isn't strictly necessary, as long as the filter is held in place, and the airflow to the filter is not restricted. If it's not cracked, i'd try popping it out back into shape. If there's holes in the box before the filter, it's not really gonna hurt anything.

but if you do have a little dough, i'd go to a pick 'n pull and get a new/used one.

its a resonator that basically only changes the sound of the engine. I took mine out and it gives a nice roar/growl but ya totally unnecessary
