3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
the MR2 headers and Celica headers are both gonna have to be cut to fit the engine bay, unfortunately .... the only options that definitely fit are the OBX SS headers or the Bosal Ceramic headers
either way you do it, get headers ... youre gonna have to get all of them cut to put a cat in anyways, assuming you register your car in a county that requires emissions testing
thats your chance to put a hi-flow cat in ^
then go 2.25" or 2.5" back to a 10" or longer resonator ... then to any muffler you want - Magnaflow is going to be the most quiet and clean-sounding, Apexi (and other similar fart-cans) are going to be more agressive sounding

i dont think we're worried about performance for a 5SFE ... it doesnt have any to begin with
i talked to him, and what he wants is a good deep tone ... like George's Veilside ... but then i informed him that the Veilside Teardrop muffler's are being sold in the $700 range

why would you add an exhaust if you werent worried about performance?
you will still get performance ... but 10hp isnt going to make a world of difference in the 5SFE
the difference in performance between 2.25" and 2.5" piping is so small that nobody would notice - however, the difference in SOUND is quite noticeable

Maybe on this car, but you want every ounce of performance you can get.
