Motor Mount replacement

The upper mount on my 1996 I4 wagon is torn so I bought a set of 3 motor mounts plus trans mount. Can someone offer advice on where and how much jacking of the motor is involved to get clearance and support to swap out the parts? Do I swap one at a time or all mounts once they are loose? Thanks a million for sharing your experiences or any offering.
Mike

I would do one at a time and just have a jack to support the side of the engine the mount is on. One of the 4cyl owners will be able to explain to you better than me... I can remove and install some of my mounts with no support.

you should be able to do all of them at once by jacking up the middle/front of the engine...except for the rear one...

I don't think there's any way to jack the engine high enough to replace it...I haven't tried, since when I pulled out my motor/tranny to do my 5-speed swap, my rear mount was perfect even after 300K km.

You have to take all the mounts off, to replace the mount in the back due to having to jack the engine a bit.

I had to place my floor jack on about 4 pieces of wood because my jack couldnt get the engine high enough being just on the drive way. That rear mount is a bitch. I jacked the car on the oil pan, just dont jack it on the oil plug.
