3rd Generation Cost for new motor mounts and to fix an oil leak? '95 5S-FE

’95 LE, 5S-FE, 160,000 miles, automatic transmission.

I’ll be keeping my Camry for a while and the shaking at stop lights is getting really annoying. If I slip it into neutral it goes away, I believe that this is due to bad motor mounts. What is a ballpark price for having an independent mechanic replace my motor mounts? And are there “name brand” motor mounts, or are they all the same?

Also, I have a slow oil leak right by the right front tire. I’ve heard that this is common on these Camry’s, but I can’t remember what the cause was (one of the gaskets?). What is the cause, and what’s a ballpark price on having an independent mechanic fix it?

All cars shake a little while in D at a stop. It shouldnt be drastic shaking or anything...but all cars shake a little. My camry has been in the family since new and it has always shaken a little while stopped and in D.

This vibration is a common problem on the 4cyl camry. Front motor mount and a front upper (Dogbone) mount should take it away. I do recommend toyota mounts....because some of out motor mounts are oil filled so they can dampen engine vibration more efficiently. The front mount on the 5s is oil filled and when replacing with a solid rubber mount sometimes engine vibration becomes a normal condition. In the older gen camrys this was a problem under warranty, and toyota spent a lot of time, with bulletins and upgraded parts to fix this problem.

Yeah I had a similar problem. I fixed it with a $15 front strut mount and changed it out in 5 mins.
Find out which seal is leaking
