3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Hello, I just ordered some factory model matts for the 1996 camry and I just got them today. I went out to the car and did a compare to find out that the matts are much lighter than the car's carpet. Not only that; the driver matt fits but I would have to unscrew the little notch that pops the trunk/gas and slide the matt under neath it in order to get it to properly fit on the floor. Also the back matts have the top right corner notched out, but my back seat floors are square.
Is this the way the matts are supposed to be? I definitely know I ordered the right color. However, these matts look even lighter than my mom's grey corolla matts. These are supposed to be a darker bluish gray. I'm sorta disappointed.
If you have your old AND new mats, get one of each, and turn them over. There will be the part # imprinted into the rubber. See if they are the same or different. If you can, post up both part #'s here.
