first time at the 1/8 mile track and i was only able to get one run in. i was up against my buddy's 2dr saturn. he beat me with reaction time but if it was a full 1/4 i would have got him and if i wasn't so nervous.
94 camry v6se 5spd 96 saturn sc 5spd
left right
reaction time: 1.141 .602
60 foot time: 2.490 2.612
trap time: 59.6 61.8
elapsed time: 10.903 11.229
winner
It would be a complete waste of time taking my 4cyl to the track, but I would like to take A car to a track sometime just to see what the whole process is like.
My wife and I did a 1/4 mile run each in our RX-7 several years back. It was fun...though I dont remember the times, we were just going there to have fun with a couple of friends.

I don't understand, you said he beat you on reaction time and you would have won if it were a full 1/4, but the person with the slower RT has a better 1/8 time. So did you win or lose?
2.5 60' has some definite room for improvement. How were your launches? Lots of wheelspin, or bogging?
Also, don't drive through the water they put down before you stage. Go around it.
Try heading up to Moroso for a test n tune night. You'll see some REAL quick cars out there.

i lost. but the elapsed time shows i went throught the track alot faster then he did. also i slowed down before the end cause i didn't know where the end was.
i only launched once and i was very nervous my tires spun but my shifts were on point.
i have no choice there are baracades on either side
i got some plans to improve all my times in 2 weeks i'll be out there again.
king: yes that should help i'll send the m.o. by thursday afternoon
if you have to drive thru the water, use it like everyone else does ... but since you probably dont have drag radials or anything, make sure you burn off all the water

i did houston race way 1/4 mile in my streep/strip 68 rs/ss, first time was really intimidating (not to mention i didnt check first and showed up on test and tune night for ford frolic weekend) just relax, take a deep breath and enjoy. something i did with that car and you may wanna do if you plan to do alot of drag is to go get a set of dot drag radials even on steelies for track nite, only need the two front and they help alot. first run on regular and wider street radials was in the 14's with wheel spin to the end, slapped in the dot drags and ran 11's the rest of the night and only spun about 1/3 of the way down... (sold the car before we got the rear dialed in) but they were a pain on the street, got enough traction once or twice on the streets to pop wheelies... never a good idea...lol
