i just used that bolt right in the middle and back behind the cluster, i didnt even sand it down or anything just unscrewed it a bit put the wire around it and tightened and it has been fine

well wat i did was near the steering column i tired puttin a screw there nut teh scrw didnt go threw any metal bout was touching it and it held in place IDK know butits there prefect ground! Till this day i have no problems with it

wow this post was a while ago but I had the gauges working 100% now. All lights lit up. The reason for the malfunctioning was that one of the wires that I had to attach together to form 3 wires in 1(green one), didn't link up to the other 2 wires that were connected. Therefore giving the backlight which lits up the KM's overall # didn't show up at night when I turn it on. But it works and looks sexy So i'm happy with them.

lol ok man goodluck with them not hopefully they dont mess up...i gotta fix mine when i left up my e-brakes the says "RAKE(S)" unstead of "BRAKE(S)" not sure if it has an "s" or not! you see the B somewat
