3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I was wondering if anyone who also has reverse gauges to help me out. So I put them on and connected them with the last wire on the right on the green connector. Now it all works and such but the backlight for the KM's and the needle doesn't lit. So at night time I can't really see anything but the nice colour of the reverse guages. Is it suppose to be like this? Or maybe I might have not connected it right?
Any help will be great. I would like to have all my lights lit at nighttime

you did something wrong....completely wrong...I didnt touch any of the three connectors when i installed mine...i powers the gauges by connecting it to the tailights fuse and grounded in on the metal on the under the steering wheel, try disconnecting the guages and reconnecting the green wire see if the same things happen if it does than maybe you blew a fuse

connect it to the taillight fuse!
forget about DYIs im telling you connect it to your tail light fuse that way when your headlights/taillights are on the reverse glow guages will also also turn on

the taillight fuse is located behind the "change pocket" on the drivers side, just tap into the fuse or do what i did, wrapped the power end of the gauges onto one of the teeth o fthe fuse and shoved it into place, it will work just fine. When ever your tailights go on they'll light up and NO THEY WONT LIGHT UP WHEN YOU PRESS THE BRAKES.
