3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
just to see if it possible k don't go crazy on me but would one be able to use a turbo from a sabb or volvo or benze engine on a camry v6 one that low you know like one that come on the car from the factory , not to produce crazy power you know just a little kick umm like an extra 10-30 horses if possible with out spending crazy money , the reason i asked is cus i have read on other forums where guys got to the junk yard and grab a turbo off one of the above cars
It would probably work. You can go the cheap way like your asking just don't expect it to be reliable/effective. I doubt an extra 30hp is gonna do anything to require heavy modification.
The hardest part is going to be the piping.
The advantage to having this over NOS would be if you plan to build up the motor you can always up the boost.
You will need a way to get more fuel (FPR, better fuel pump)
You will need to find a way to tune (Emanage, SAFC, standalone)

alot of the expensive stuff will still have to be done reguardless of how little power ur shottin for. if u do end up doin it then build the rest of the system asuming that u will run a bigger turbo later.
doesnt really mean anything, most turbos that companies use, including euros, come from turbo companies. they jsut tool them for a certain model and mass produce.
