3rd Generation v6 swap?

what would be cheaper doing a v6 swap into my gen3(friend has motor jack and tools to do it, he is currently doing an itr swap in his integra) or just go and buy a damn used v6. all the ones in houston look like crap and the motors are around 150k. i wanted to buy a jdm motor online and go to the junk yard for the other parts

umm that a good question i would say just get a v6 you will prob spend less money. but you can by the v6 if you want but i think that it would involve a lot more work and turn out more costly

You basically need a V6 front clip. Find a totaled V6 Camry with an untouched front end. Drop the subframe from the V6 with EVERYTHING attacked (wiring, engine, tranny, struts, wheels, brakes, etc), and put it all on your car just like that. And you may need to change your dash harness to the one from the V6.

Yes, that engine is an I4 (Was in the white car the day before), and yes, that is a V6 in the car. :-D

You are better off just buying the v6 and swapping a newer v6 in later, saves you from a lot of headaches.

better to buy the car that came with the v6 not to mention that its less hassle and probably cheaper already. Already comes with the v6 disc brakes all around and little things like speedometer readings will right with the stock v6 wheels. It's just better to buy the v6 one period.

i did the entire swap for 400bucks...1992 4cyl xle into a full on 1993 v6 xle brakes exhaust suspension. unless you've done it you have no idea how difficult it is.....

camryfreak09: call local towyards and see if they have one they are willing to sell as a parts car only. then you will have everything you need for your swap. that's what i did. also the only difference in the ac compressor is the pulley.
