3rd Generation 2 or 3 serious questions

1. How many miles would you have to get in order for an transmission flush? I wanna do mine but I don't know if it's a good decision to make. I have nearly 175,000 on the Camry. I don't know if its ever been done since I've had. Only reason I'm asking is b/c every time I'm driving and the car jump the gear shift it jerks. I don't know if anyone noticed what I'm talking about but please respond. I keep thinking its my motor mount but I've already both of them replaced.

2. Has anybody ever heard of a V8 Camry? To me it sounds weird, but a friend of mine that works with said they made some and they were pretty high. I've never heard of it but anything is possible now and days.

3. Is there some website where I can find a cheap Optima Yellow Top battery besides Ebay?

I'm pretty sure some more questions will come up, but this is all I can think of for now.

As for the second one, I havent heard of any V8 Camry's, however i've seen a few V8 MR2's, Civics, and a few others.

Why dont you just buy a battery at Auto Zone? I wouldnt buy a battery on ebay, mainly because shipping would be expensive.

Amazon.com has optimas cheap. 50 bucks less than what I paid for mine at autozone.

Yellow tops arent really expensive... you just need to know where to look.

1) If a tranny flush has never been performed on your car with that many miles, you will probably be advised just to do a transmission filter and fluid change instead, especially if it's never been done on your car. The flush has been known to knock loose stuff that actually was helping keep seals from leaking and such.

2) Just like the guy I used to work with who swore up and down that Honda made a v8 accord the first couple of years of its existance, a camry that came from the factory with a v8 is false. You might be thinking of the Lexus LS400 which a lot of people I've talked to mistake for a 'camry' (similar size to them, I dunno) which is rwd and offers a v8.

3) Like mentioned above, do some searches you can come up with some good deals on optima batteries from time to time.

as far as the v8 camry, sadly so far as i know only in nascar, although if i had a ton of cash i am sure i could find someone to drop in a small block chevy or even the toyota v8s out of the trucks in a camry, it would be fun but probably not worth the expense.

check sams club (if you have one nearby) pep boys, autozone, etc, i want one but not quite ready to pony up the cash till this battery dies... i figure in another year or 2 they will come down in price some more...

I thought you said you had serious questions. No V8 camry was ever made, and Im not sure what you mean by "they were pretty high."

He was probably just referring to an LS400 as a Camry with a V8.

#1 gets asked a lot. I would drain and refill. However, if your tranny 'dies' from this or a flush, it probably would not have lasted much longer anyway. Atleast from what 'experts' such as Tom and Ray the car guys say.
#2 Who's 'they'? Has anyone dropped a V8 into a Camry? Probably, but not from the factory as far as I've ever heard.

Just trying to help you out before some smartass puts their two cents in, but isn't the Toyota nascar a 'Camry' then it would have a v8?

Now, we all know that's not a 'production' camry, but I know someone will try to debate using that point, so just before they get it out

Say like if I'm going 50-55 mph up an incline and I'm 2700rpm on cruise. The car would automatically jump from 2700 to 3925rpm and once it gets over the incline it changes gears and thats when the car jerks like the engine is going to fall out or something. I still have that problem when I idle down to 750rpm and the steering wheel is shaking.

I'm a bit confused now, were you asking for any Camry's that had a V8 swap, or Camry's that came stock with a V8 (which they didnt)?

If your car jerks at gear shift you more than likely have an engine mount out, if you happen to have the 1mz (3.0 v6) there is a torque strut mount on the top of the engine and more than likely the bushings are ate to shit, only reason i know this is because its a problem on my car :P, as for the idea of getting a tranny flush i would advise it like the rest of these guys if it has never been done, but i don't think its going to fix the "jump" when the car shifts gears, im quite sure its a mount issue.

yadda yadda yadda, ive heard of dumb stuff like an LT1 or LT2 in a camry but ive never seen it so id assume its just fore say.

Don't know from what you have described so far.
