3rd Generation quick solution, CAI and check engine?...

Looking for the quick answer, 1995 1MZ-FE

Took off the top of the air intake box, and installed a cone filter, after running for ... 2 minutes or so the check engine light came on... mind you while using the stock air hose and all pieces connected to their designated location. (stock air hose has a hole in it thats been taped throughly and engine light was not on previous to installing filter )

Phase 2, curiosity the stock air hose on the 1MZ (my engine) has a line that is a relief for the valve cover, if my after market customized air intake has no place for the hose to connect should i replace the hose from there with a mini cone filter?... or is there a different solution??

hmm, try disconnection the battery and then reconnecting and see if the light comes back on after a while. sometimes changes cause it to trip a code. a small filter on the end of that releif hose would be ok but it would be better to hook it up to the intake.
