For those who have body kits/lip kits *cough*BigBird Eye8Pussies*cough* HOW are those body/lip kits(shape/form) because i really want to get a lip kits tried looking everywhere i found a TRD lip kit on ebay few months back, but the seller was asking for $500 which i dont/didnt have. I want to know how the are formed becasue i dont want to buy a bodykit since it'll be expensive ( or it likely cause more car theifs to go after my car if a bodykit is on it ). I was wondeirnf if the body/lip kits are like the bumpers themselves i was going to buy another rear/front bumper and cut out a mimic (or almost) cope of the TRD lip and have it glued or something onto the bumpers.
Also if it is possible how would be be screwed to the bottom of the car?
Also i bought a used OEM headlight from some dude off in Hunts Points(for those who are from NYC) its a new OEM headlight, its pretty clean, but it had some water in there when i got it from him, anyways i was oging to use this one to replace my broken one (if you read my accident thread[headlight bracket broke]), I was looking at this one but theres a rumber piece on the purchased headlight thats broken, so should i replace the old with the new or leave the old. I need a spare headlight to wokr on because i want to try and make it clear form the inside since i want to do a projector retro fit. ANd to make it clear how would it be possible?
Sorry for the long post

use the new one and just use the broken one to test fit ur projectors.
as far as the kit, thay have a couple ways of forming the molds. the best way for u is gonna be to build ur own out of fiberglass. basically u make a stirafoam lip/body kit exactly the way u wanna see it on the car, make sure ur tolerances are close and it will mount. next lay fiberglass over the foam forms making sure u have teh material pressed into each and every nook and cranny. after it dries u remove the form and u now have a fiberglass mold for a body kit. i forget the material that ur suppsed to use to keep the layers of fiberglass separate when actually casting the actual body kit but a little reaserch will yeild it. simply lay the fiberglass in the mold, again be sure to press into all the spaces(if u have vents or holes, cut thoes out after the finished product dries
now u can also just lay fiberglass over the stirafoam form if ur good enough and the tolerances are gonna factor in the larger size of the actualy body kit since it was made ontop of the form instead from a mold. i wouldnt do this but its somthin u can try.
in the past ive built 2 body kits for friends of mine and the first way is how i did it. i so wish i still had puctures cuz they turned out really good IMO.
When you save tolerances what you you mean by that, and im not sure if i clarified aboout what i wanted ot do with the new(but used) headlight...Yes im going to use it as a guideline to doing the retrofit process but i was wondering how would i make the lense clear, since i really dont want to buy the gen 4.5 headlights

im trying to look for it but there is a headlight clearing DIY floating around here somewhere.
when i say tolerances, basically just make sure the foam form looks exactly how u want it to look on the car. cept dont cut out vents, just mark them. u wanna make sure that u factor in mouting points too.
OK, wher can i get the fiberglass cloth or w.e is needed..also i have teh solarguy clearing teh headlight thing, but i want to know if it will work on the inside of the headligth where all the groves and stuff is at?

as far as i know u have to do it on the inside.
best place for what ur lookin for is gonna be a body supply shop, online will be best, and id get fiberglass mat and cloth(weave). as far as the foam, hardware stores carry it in 4x8 sheets for insutation ull aslo need a strong glue to hold the sheets together and a sawsall will be a good thing to have as well as a dremmel and lots of sand paper from rough to very fine.
when all is said and done man ul be lookin at the same price of a used painted kit. do this cuz u want to be origional and really make a one off kit.
OK! im still kinda IFy about this whole fiberglass lip kit, im see if i can find anything online about it alsop im also waiting for advice from the other members here if this was ment for bigbird i might have justed PM him about it
