squeaking sound supercharger

Tonight i heard a squeaking sound from my supercharger arround the pulley.i hope it is the alternator belt in the supercharger pulley and not the bearing........

Is this a known issue??

how loud is the sound. mine does that too but i can only hear it if the hood is up and ive herd enough superchargers to know its just the belts. pm eye8pussies or ask in the FI section on solaraguy.com.

These are the most difficult questions i have ever heard.
sounds like killing a dog...no ... driving over a cat ...no ... ....

I think it is impossible to discribe

Friday i will post a movie of the sound and maybe we can solve the mystery.

Thanks

how is the belt tension? I know a slipping alternator belt sounds pretty terrible haha.

Give it a couple of days and see if it worsens, stays the same, or leaves altogether...

In my opinion...

if it is just the belt tension it is a super easy fix... twist the belt with your finger. It should turn to about 90 degrees, maybe a little more at most. Otherwise the belt could be loose and squeaking. Another guess could be that one of the bearings on your pulleys is shot. I didnt have a washer on one of mine when I first installed it and it made a terrible noise. Check that stuff out and get back to us!

This morning (moisty day) the sound is away......maybe i must do what frederick said ...give it a couple of days (3 days ago i have put on a new belt)

Today, just for sure , i can try the 90 degree trick...

I have an auto tensioner and i have pulled the alternator so far away as possible (tension to te max). So the auto tensioner is only doing his job.

When the sound is coming back, can i spray some water on the pulley (sides), to see if the sound change.... i know no oil

Thanks again!!

I think a little water would be alright... I totally forgot about the auto tensioner, I have the crappy old setup.

low priority...so they have not looked at it.

So next week i must go on vacation (5000km) with a slow and noisy car. I am driving in germany where it is legal to drive 300+ km .... nice test for the supercharger

can the leakage be the cause of the supercharger?
