thanks for the link. So is 80 bucks resonable? I'll pay it if thats reasonable but if I can find it cheaper than more power to me.

$80 for a thermostat !! Why would you want an $80 thermostat when you can get a Stant that works fine for about $5 at Advance?

I'm not gonna buy some advance or autozone crap. No to sticking inferior thermostats.

In 35 years of driving and working on my own cars I've never had a thermostat fail, either an original factory or an aftermarket Stant.

TRD thermostat seems a bit excessive .... mine is factory and gives me no problems, so i couldnt justify paying $80 for a <$10 piece of equipment

An OEM one can't be more than 20 bucks.

Edit: Hell, you'd be better of getting a Temp gauge if you want to spend 80 dollars...

$80?? Jesus. That's more than the over-engineered thermostat/integrated housing thing on my BMW! I don't think the basic structure of a thermostat has changed in about 100 years. And in six years of fixing Toyotas, I don't remember ever replacing one other than during routine maintenance.

I was looking for one a month ago and had a site, but I dont have the link anymore...

If youre a member on solara guy, try searching over there or PM the user NVDIS1- he can get you TRD parts for a good price since he works at a dealership.

And sure, the OEM thermostat is fine for a stock 5sfe or whatever, but some people are into modifying their cars
