I initially wanted to do a 2.5 piping - but i've heard ov uncool story about 5sfe with 2.5 pipes suffering. With that said, i bought a resonator that's 2.5in. - i was wondering if i could still use this for a 2.25 piping instead ov the 2.5. I tried the search but - it didn't yield any useful info and im a newbie when it comes to exhaust systems. Any help would be nice. thanks for your time.
^^ LOL. dude- please explain. i read that running too big of a pipe - will loose a lot of back pressure and in turn.. torque loss. BUT if anyone else thinks otherwise- please enlighten. And feel free to correct me.
fuck that, you lose part throttle response when going to 2.5" but losing torque going wot on the low revs is not noticeable at all and if anything my butt dyno says it revs a little easier on the upper rpm ranges and this is when I had the music blasting and wasn't relying on the louder noise to cloud my judgement... the problem is when you not going full throttle on the lower rpms the response is lower but wot nope... theres a difference on talking which one... I have it and switched from 2.5"/2.25" setup to full 2.25" and just put everything back to 2.5" and my ass notice no difference in lost of torque when i go full throttle down low...
Get GrkballG to come in here to say any differences he feels when driving cause he also has a 2.5" setup on a stock 5sfe too...
One thing is for certain the bigger the piping the louder the car will be let it be small or large difference it will be louder the bigger you go that is something everyone could agree on...

u can still use ur 2.5 res with 2.25 exhaust. its true that on a N/A engine like the 5s, larger tubing will cause a loss of some low end tq and an increase high end power. GrkballG is going turbo i believe so he needs the extra flow. since ur N/A ull be fine with either but id go with 2.25 to save some tq and money in many cases.
ok...i have a dimela,
i just bought a res with 2.25" in/out and looking to buy a cat with 2.25 in/out but i have a 2.5" inlet muffler with a 3.5 outlet...what do you guys think about this setup, sorry One_To_Hate for the thread jack
and also ( off topic ) felony do you own a green gen3 camry...if u do i think i saw you
