Put in a bottle of fuel injection cleaner in your gas tank and see if that helps. If it doesn't, then your engine mounts are worn out and they need to be replaced.

What do you mean by "rough idle?" If you mean a misfire I would recommend replacing your ignition coil. I had that prob on mine and got a new coil for $35 at Advance Auto parts, it's just kind of a pain to install since it's in the dist.

I always encourage folks to remove the EGR valve and the IAC valve and clean them. Do some searches for instructions (it is pretty similar to 1990s and they have some good techniques in that forum). The vacuum tubes from the EGR modulator to the EGR valve can get clogged as well. Make sure that there are no leaks (cracks) in the large air delivery hose and that none of your vacuum hoses have broken or come off.

my definition rough idle? sit at stop light(dead) with your both hands holding the steering wheel waiting for a stop lights turn green. you feel your hands vibrating but when you accelerate..they're no vibrating. i already took EGR value off and cleaned..yes, they were some built up and i manage cleaned...and put it back..the idle did improve, but still little rough idle at dead stop.... what can it be? you think fuel injection goes bad?

i don't know where to go from here to look for....

You can get a bottle of fuel injection cleaner at any store. I would try Walmart first as they figure to have the best price. I have heard good things about Chevron fuel injection cleaner; although it is a bit pricey. Click and Clack, the guys on public radio, recommend it.

I have a '93 5sfe that does the exact same thing and has for several years now. It's always worse when it gets cooler outside...

anyway, I'm not so sure it's related to the injectors, I think it might be the engine mounts, maybe the hydraulic one on the front of the engine.....

I'd like to hear from others on this forum who may have had the same problem and learn what exactly they did to correct it.

like I said, go buy a bottle of fuel injector cleaner at any auto parts store (advance auto, autozone, pepboys) and read the directions the back of the bottle. If you tried the fuel injector cleaner then most likely you need to replace your motor mounts. Try getting a friend and tell him to switch gears for you while your outside of the car. Look at your engine while he switches gears and see if the engine does a very big chuck while it switches gears.

engine mount has ALREADY REPLACE FRONT AND REAR AND RH MOUNT...IT DID BETTER, BUT LITTLE ROUGH IDLE AT DEAD STOP...

TODAY, I KNOW WHEN I AM AT DEAD STOP (ENGINE WITH NORMAL GAUGE TEMP)..THE RPM JUMP DOWN (LITTLE) ..LIKE IT TRYING TO SUCK GAS OR AIR...THEN THE RPM GOES BACK..IF I SIT AT DEAD STOP FOR LONG, I CAN SEE THE RPM GO DOWN A LITTLE AND UP A LITTLE.....

HAS ANYONE HAS THE PROBLEM I HAVE...WHAT YOU GUYS FIXED..LAST TIME, I TOOK EN BOTTLE THROTTLE OUT AND CLEANED... THEN I TRY ATTEMP TO TAKE OFF IAC TO CLEAN...BUT I RAN IN HURDLE WITH 4 SCREWS UNDER IAC TO TAKE IT OFF....WHAT YOU GUYS SUGGEST TOOL TO TAKE IT OFF... I TRY REGULAR SCREWDRIVER, BUT IT DOESN'T WORK.... ALSO, I HAVE A HARD TIME TO LOOSE 3 HOUSE LINE CLIP OFF...ANY TOOLS YOU SUGGEST TO GIVE ME A BETTER EDGE TO TAKE 3 HOUSE OFF EASY....

I WANT TO GO BACK AGAIN TO TAKE OF IAC TO CLEAN IT REALLY GOOD... I ALREADY DID SPREAD INTO IAC SMALL HOLD..IT DID HELP...BUT NOT COMPLETELY...

HAS SOMEONE TOOK IAC OUT ON THEY TOYOTA CAR AND CLEANED..SEE MUCH IMPROVEMENT ON RPM NOT JUMPING......

SUGGESTION WHAT I NEED TO LOOK OUT AND WHAT NEED TO BE CHANGE WHILE I'M THERE...YOU THINK THE SENSOR NEED TO BE REPLACE...I THOUGH GO JUNKYARD TO FIND ONE AND REPLACE...

THANKS FOR INPUTS..STILL NEED MORE INPUTS...

The upper dog bone by the timing cover was replaced recently with a Toyota part and the lower front mount was changed about five years ago with a PepBoys part. Are there any other mounts that could be changed? Might it be worthwhiloe to put an OEM Toyota mount on the lower front instead of the cheapo PepBoys one?

BTW the car has 199,500 miles and it idles and runs perfectly....

Thanks.
