3rd Generation Oil Treatment for Leaks 3.5 Gen I4

I had to try several oil treatment for leaks, I have a rear seal leak that I have no intention of getting repaired for the moment. I get them at Wallyworld.

It has lessened a bit but has not stopped it. I have 131K miles on my baby.

Anybody has an experience with a brand? And where can we get it?

I have taken cared of the other oil leak sources, distributor, valve cover, oil pump, etc..

Just the rear main seal.......

Don't bother. Nothing will work except replacing seal.

When my seals began to leak I used "AT205 Reseal" in the engine oil. I don't know of a chain that sells AT 205. I found it at small auto parts stores, the chains didn't carry it (of course, that may be a red flag that it doesn't work). I also used "Cargo Automatic Transmission Leak Sealer" in the transmission to clean & "rejuvenate" the rubber parts. Both products seamed to help. I can't say the leaks went away but they did seem to slow down. I did end up replacing my main seals when I got the money to do so. A lot of the engine oil companies are marketing an oil for high milage cars. I think that they are putting something similar in their oil along with heavier duty cleaners. I got over 350,000 miles on my 3SFE before a "lady" totaled my 1990 Camry.

Well, guess ya'll right. It did slow down for a bit. It costs me $5 per oil change...not bad. I am worried that it might affect something else. Essentially, you are thickening your oil....right?

There are probably different types of additives. The ones that I was using indicated that they were revitalizing the rubber seals. I figured that meant that somehow they were softening the seals and thus allowing the seals to seat better and keep the oil from leaking out.

I generally look at the additives as a stop gap measure. The best way to fix the problem is to put in new seals, gaskets, etc...
