3rd Generation Suspesion Noise

I replaced the front struts on my 2.2L a few weeks ago, and since then I have noticed an odd noise when cornering. I would describe it as a squelching sort of sound but that is not right. It is not the knocking sound you get form CVs I know that sound well.

The history of the suspension is:
6 months ago replaced the sway(stabilizer) bar bushes (front and rear) with poly bushes, also the rear struts and new bump (spring bumper) stops, and the control arm bushes.

1 month ago replaced the front struts and bump stops, I reused the other rubber parts, (upper and lower spring seats).

I have a leak in my power steering, possibly the rack.

any suggestions?

sure did, good and proper.

The noise has only been noticeable since I did the front struts. But there were lots of noises, knocks and thumps, before I changed them.

I think they were original, with 215k km on them so they were well and truely shagged.

No, I didn't grease the rack under the boot.

I replaced the bump stop that goes on the strut rod, I didn't touch the upper strut mount (I assume you mean the rubber pad that goes between the spring and the body)

It may be something a simple as the backing plate may have got bent slightly and is slightly rubbing the rotor.
