Oil Leak...

Oil Leaking, looks like from the oil pan. Had the problem before, had a refurbished oil pan put on, didn't have a problem with it for 3, maybe 4 months and now it's starting up again. The original oil pan looked bent on an edge as if i, or the previous owner had hit something, but with the new oil pan on it shouldn't be leaking... having it looked at next week, anyone else have this problem? I must have bad luck with the thing or something because no one i know has had as many problems as i with a toyota... first the power steering pump went on me, now this is coming back... wtf? It's well taken care of mechanically, (i've hit a couple things with it but no damage to anything but body)... just bad luck or are others experiencing random leaks?

Oil pans are hardly ever to blame for oil leaks. They live at the bottom of the engine and all the other oil leaks drip down on them and they the poor oil pan gets blamed. When you replaced yours you probably cleaned up the area real nice and now the actual oil leak has finally dripped down enough to be noticable again.

However, in your case, you mentioned that it looked like a former owner had hit it on something. There may be a chance that the edge of the upper oil reservoir got deformed so that the new oil pan can't make a good seal and what ever you used for a gasket has degraded to a point that oil can leak out.

I guess that I would try to clean the engine real good and keep a close eye on where the oil comes out.
