is this a good deal?

its a 96 toyota camry LE 4 cylinder. it has 133 thousand miles on it, and is 5 thousand dollars... i asked my uncle to come and look at it, he test drove it a bitbut he took off the oil cap while the car was running and put his hand like over the hole (like slightly above it) and there was oil spats all over his hand, and he says thats bad and he just said the engine was abused and its seen betterr days. but he also said it looks to be a cherry, and is a real reliable car and real dependable...

what do you think? im 17 and i know its not the coolest or sportiest car, but i just like it.. it has a luxry feel, but at an affordable price, you know? and when i test drove it, it was so smooth, and the turning just turned real easily (compared to my car) and it had a little kick to it too. it accellerated pretty nicely, atleast it seemed. keep in mind tohugh, this is only the 2nd or 3rd car ive driven, haha.

and i think camrys have a lot of potential to look "cooler" you know?
like some tasteful changes...

like tint and a nice set of rims..the car looks a lot better. and ive been in the camry pic thread, some of you have really nice camrys.

that actually brings me onto something else... how much would it cost to tint the windows? how much would rims cost to be bought and put o nthe car? wheres a good place to get em? how do i know what ones fit on that car?

not worth $5K. id say 3500 maby the engine is the most important and if its been abused then 5000 is to much, plus is thats a bretty big dent on the drivers side fender there. fo that money u could get a V6.

honestly, if u really like the gen3 camry and can afford 5K then id look at a V6, ull never regret it. and u can find one in GREAT condition for 5K.

that's too much for a 96 i4 w/ that mileage. Go bug one ov the members here- i 4get who but he was on the verge ov selling his camry w/a v6 and 80K . Just push him over the edge to sell it to you. i4s suxballsbigtime - so grab a 94-95 v6. Its so much better.

Looks wise I say get a 95 or 96 (rear end looks better) and definitely get a V6 especially since you spending that kinda of cash hell even get the one with leather seats and stuff with low mileage with that kinda of cash you could find one. Don't buy an i4 you will regret it man big time maybe not now but later you would and the V6 is just a tad bit less efficient in gas mileage not too much to get an i4. After you find one and did any little maintenance it needs (basic tune up) then start hooking it up with rims and stuff and these guys here would help you decide on what to do, good luck!!!

the cost of the car ur looking at is to high. did u kelly blue book it at least? u can get a V6 in GREAT condition for 5K

that car there looks good, but again if ur willing to spend 5, the keep lookin for a real cherry. if it were me id look for a V6, espcially a 92-93 V6 SE 5speed.

yes the 2nd choice, the green V6 is a much better deal
looks to be pretty clean too! all u need are lil things like wheel centercaps
more options on that one too...and no hefty pricetag and goofy hubcaps liken the 1st one
id get the green one.

Call your uncle to not look into that beige car and definitely look into that green camry, dark color camrys can be made to look much better than beige camrys IMO... plus that green one seems to be in good shape and everything... I have an i4 and I'm beasting to get an V6- also when it comes to lowering the car the V6 has an option that is proven to have an equal and good drop with tein springs from a solara (thank Milt for this) when the time comes and you get better tire size options when upgrading without messing up the speedometer... for example rocking 18's on V6 you can rock 235/40 with almost no speedometer difference but with an i4 you have to do with 215/40 unless you want to have a way off speedometer reading which means more sidewall on the V6 and better comfort lol...
