This doesn't relate to anything about Gen 3 or 4.... Its just that I don't know anyone else outside of thise little section and I wanted to post it here..... don't move it?? Please?

Last night there was a school party in downtown. Since my car is out of commission, I had a friend of a friend to come drive me. He comes in a manual G35 coupe, then he told me to drive it. I was like huh? Apparently he just got the two days ago, and he DOESN'T have his driver's license yet and doesn't want to drive to downtown on a weekend.

Fine, I thought, I know how to drive manual, can't be too hard. BOY WAS I WRONG. His car is rear wheel drive, a first for me. His car has close to 300hp, another first. He has summer tires, and it was pissing rain.

My experience with manual cars had always been low power front wheel drives, things that are like 90-130hp. The G35's clutch grabs like instantly at the right point, there isn't much linear difference, it was like on and off. Drive by wire sucks + a really non linear throttle....

So the whole driving experience has been like, wheel spin, stall, spin, spin, spin, stall, stall..... not very entertaining. There was a very hairy part where there was a metal plate on the ground from road construction and the car almost spun. Car was sliding around the whole night anyways.

I thought they were suppose to have traction control?? like shit that prevents wheelspin(video games make it really obvious).

Maybe it's because you've never driven a quick 5-6 speed car? My friends STi was probably the easiest manual transmission car I have ever driven.

Easiest to drive manual I've driven is a 330HP Firebird, but yeah, in the rain I would have had to take it easy. Aren't most summer tires just fine in the wet, but not snow or ice?

I think it's more of a lack of experience. My RX-7 was fun as HELL to drive. Cant WAIT to get it back on the road.

Most likely like what you guys said, lack of exp. All I've been driving are rather lesser cars. I haven't driven anything that powerful, less the manual part. I drive manual fine, just not used to something like that.
