Question Question with 02+ Owners and EZPass Fastlane Similar Products

Sup all I have a question for all those owning only '02 and up vehicles who are using fastlane, ezpass or similar drive thru toll paying devices.

Remember feedback from only '02 and up please~!!

The site states that cars manufactured in '02 certain models require external tags...but I'd rather not get an external because I'm sure it'd be easy to rip it off...so have any of you had problems with an internal tag? If so please let me know thanks~!

Well even though I have a 97 and I have EZTAG(Houston's version), my mom has an 01' with it too. She, like all of our cars, have it inside the windshield to the right of the rear view mirror mount. They are very easy to remove with a razor blade.

But, you gotta remember placement of the tag varies by the system used. You could very well have to have an external tag where you live, while I don't.

Re: Question with 02+ Owners and EZPass Fastlane Similar Products

Lemme annoy you - on a '00 it works fine inside

Seriously though, it depends more on the car, not as much on the year. On Saabs and other cars, even on before '02 models, they have protecting coating that interferes.

I rented an 02 or 03 Dodge Intrpid last week with my own EZPass and it had no issues. So, check with your car manufacturer to see if your windshield has any metallic coating...

I've had some difficulty on the Crescent City (New Orleans) Connection bridge using the ezpass there. My car is an '03 Camry. Sometimes catches, sometimes not. I now just open the window and hold the plate up toward the sensor, which works fine every time. Not worth the bother to see about alternate passes, at least in my opinion.
