2000 camry 4 cly LE. flex pipe

car was hit in the parking lot. the connection between the end of flex pipe and the exhause pipe became loose, and leaking.
car sounds very loud.
what is the solution to this?
i have 102k mile on it now, and don't plan to keep it for long.

Do a Camry TN search as this issue has come up before. You can purchase an aftermarket flex pipe or have a third party muffler shop install one. Toyota does not sell the part and only offer the complete exhaust pipe that is very expensive.

I had the flex pipe and the short pipe behind it replaced on my 94 last week by an independant muffler shop. Total cost was $150. This muffler shop has always been the cheapest around my area. If you opnly need the fles pipe itself it should be run around $125. Use that pricing as a gage.

thx guys.
did some search, many have suggested just replace the whole CATALYTIC CONVERTERS from Y-pipe, to the other end.
i found the toyota oem is very expensive:
Catalytic converter, corolla, 1.8l, all 00-02 $1,156.80 $867.60
Parts & Prices For Estimating Purpose Only.
$211.50 for covertergeek.
http://www.convertergeek.com/item.ww...=convertergeek
$150 from a guy on ebay:

anyone has exp. with any of those?
of course the guy on ebay is the best price. but i don't want to get check-engine light and waste my dollar on something that doesn't work at all.

i used aftermarket bolt-on parts from catco and they are working great. i bought it off of a guy on ebay. i would go this route again if i needed to replace my flex pipe section.

bronzemaxell - you are correct.
