JDM Gen 3 with traction control - yep, it does exist. Gday all from New Zealand. I'm buying tomorrow a 94 3.0 wagon as a daily driver, trading a Lexus ES300 to it with a little cash my way. The car has done 190miles, is very clean, but last week the owner noticed the traction control & engine light came on simultaniously. Is this a TRC fault (which I can live with not working) or a diagnostic issue that I should deal with? His mechanic has said ignore it - I've said change mechanic. Any way I can find out before I part with my ES?

I know it seems like an odd trade, but the versitility of the wagon appeals, and the badge is the right one lol! My weekend toy is a 300zx Twin Turbo 5sp.

hey man, welcome to TN. thats a pretty cool ride, never knew toyota had traction control in the gen3.

i would definatly get it checked out before buying it, even if u just get the codes read so u know what is going on. does the ABS light come on too?
