5SFE Wheel Hop

So yeah, ive got mad wheel hop upon heavy acceleration. The V6 guys have there torque rod to take care of that and im wondering is there anything out there that will control wheel hop for the 5S like the torque rod for the V6 guys?????

how are you getting wheel hop with 130hp?

usually its suspension-related, but it could also be caused by poor-quality tires, as well

whats the feasibility of swapping in the V6 5-speed tanny? You'd be able to then use the Torque rod.

it says "ready for the snail", so i didnt think that he had started the build yet

but even with a 5SFTE, you shouldnt be getting wheel hop from power

my guess is the suspension, just based upon skimming and scanning racecar suspension books for Formula SAE

So you suggest adjusting the damper?

yeah, poor damping could be the culprit - youre on k-sports, right?

its probably not an issue with unsprung weight, so its either damping or torque/tranny issues

I need to compare my dads 5S to my 1MZ in the afternoon and see how feasable it is to weld the bracket to the 5S Tranny for the torque rod. It should bolt to the subframe without any work, it;s just getting it to the tranny. Eye8Pussies will be here all day, so I'll have him look too.
