Oddball click in RF wheel/ TRC fault

Hi all, my gen3 has a click in the right front wheel, (1 click per revolution). I haven't yet lifted it to diagnose, but the TRC off/ engine management light came on together 2 weeks ago (a fault I knew, hence the price). What does the TRC linkage/s at the RF look like? I'm picking it's related. I'm hoping the linkages between the gen4 & my 3 will be pretty similar.

On a different note, what's a good colour to do the nose grill in? I'm thinking satin black or the body colour.

hi mate, i have a feeling you might have a bit of trouble getting answers on your gen3 as i don't think they came out with TRC other than Japan? i might be wrong there, but i've never heard anyone talk about TRC here. so if that's the case, most people wouldn't really know where to start helping you.

doesn't the TRC work via the ABS? could it be one of the ABS sensors? just throwing some ideas.

as for the grill, i've done mine in black as the original was cracked and i could only find a red one at the wreckers. it doesn't look too bad if you ask me. i did mine in epoxy matt black.

i can't believe how cheap you got your wagon, btw. i paid $3,600 AUD for mine 3 weeks ago and i thought i got a bargain.

Cheers mate! Yea, it's a great deal. I traded it with $500 cash my way on a 96 Windom (JDM ES300) that I had just bought for $1600. I think it would cost $2500-3000 to replace. NZ market values the Camry wagon fairly high, thats why it's worth more than an ES300 locally.

Given the Aussie prices, $3600 is very good buying. Sorry to have rained on your bargain!

ABS is functioning, only notable issue is the TRC off/ ECU lights on the dash, and the click. All other goodies work fine. When I joined I searched for TRC techinfo on gen3s, kept finding posts saying it doesn't exist on the 3. I'll try to get it on a hoist today.

Yeah, I honestly do not think many people here will be able to help as Unco has said. We never had TRC in out Gen 3 here in North America. If your Engine light, or any other warning lights came on, find out the code. Is there any Camry repair manuals sold in stores there that can tell you how to do it?

I can think of a couple things to check to fix the tire clicking;

-inspect tread carefully for an object stuck in the tire;
-remove wheel covers and drive car to see if noise goes away;
-remove wheel to inspect inside for mud or object stuck around brake area or inside the wheel.
-Inspect CV drive axle boot clamp make sure it has not come loose and edge is hitting something.
-Sticking brake pads or brake pads loose in caliper (usually they would squeak also if this were the case though)
-Rotor badly worn, needs turning or replacing
-bent steel wheel
-lead wheel weight noise
