Gen 4.0 trunk tail light -> stop light mod worth it?

On a gen 4.0 Camry the red lights on the trunk are wired as tail lights. Is it worth it to rewire them as stop lights? I am completely able to do this mod but is it worth it? Any difference in if the guy behind you can better see you slowing down?

(gen 4.5s already do this stock. )

well its always better to be brighter but i hardly think it will be worth it in the long run. in most rear end cases its because the person doesnt have time to stop, doesnt notice the lights at all. so saying u NEED the extra light would be kind of a moo point(tee hee hee).

I do have an idea for you.

After you re-wire the trunk tail lights lights as brake lights, use 3157 LED bulbs. Those bulbs will come on fraction of a second faster than your other brake lights.

Haha I considered doing that to my trunk lights recently too. But if you really wanted to improve something, change the high mounted stop light, the 921 bulb in there is crap dim.

I put together a led setup and it's super bright and turns on instantly so that people behind have more time to stop.

But I think you should do your trunk light anyway. The Gen 4 exterior lighting sucks compared to other cars (so dim). I'd love to see your results.

I haven't done the trunk lights, but I did the third brake to led's also. I did it mainly for the looks, I think that 4gen third brake light is fugly. Maybe the fraction of a second makes a difference.

Yea It really does not match the car other lights. I wish that they would make 4 gen led tail lights.
