3rd Generation Quick Fix for Peeling Paint?

Hello all Since I found the answers so helpful on this forum, I have another question that I need some help on.

My mom got crashed in the 96 Camry about 4-5 years ago, and they had to replace the panel, however, about 3 years later, the paint started to crack in one place and is peeling off the metal. The peel has been slowly expanding, and is a few square inches now. My dad doesn't want to pay $1000 to repaint the door again.

Does anyone know of a good and reasonably priced DIY quick fix for the problem. It doesn't need to be perfect, I just want to stop it from further peeling and improve the protection to the panel.

Great idea, try to find a door the same color. There has to be one out there on the internet. it will be a lot cheaper than $1000

^^ The paint hasn't peeled OFF, its still clinging onto the rest of the paint. Can I just super glue it or use some epoxy?

it will temporarily but its not gonna protect the metal. u have to at least primer it to prevent the metal underneith from rusting. using auto spraypaint will be the cheapest way to do it right.

What materials to I need to do what you mentioned?

(If I understand correctly, is that I will need to apply primer, and spray paint?)

If you haven't talked with the body shop that did the original work try them. While any warrantee has undoubtedly run out a lot of companes will stand behind their work if you ask them. Maybe they won't do it for free but they might give you a substantial discount. The worst that they can do is say no.

If you wanted to twist their arm a little you could make up a sign for inside the window pointing to the repair and stating something like "so & so, inc. did their best to paint this in 2003 and look at it now." Drive around their shop and shame them into backing up their work. I don't think that it should peel like that unless they didn't preparte the door right.
