3rd Generation Reverse and fouth comes and goes.

Hi, I pulled out one day and the tranny kind jumped a couple times then I lost forth and reverse. started it the next day and it worked fine. now its acting up again. anybody have any ideas????
1992 3.0 AUTO.

seems to be slipping when it hits O/D, have you changed the transmission oil lately or ever?

does it do it all the time or just when ever it wants to because from waht you've wrote the tranny maybe be slipping

It does it when it wants to. it doesn't feel like slipping, if it goes into o/d it doesnt jump back out. it either engages or it doesn't, same with reverse.
