3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
just buy five 80 pound bags of concrete, but it only lowers the back end and gives the car sluggish handling.
what is the most weight someone has put in the trunk? i need to get some more bags, but i dont want to push the car past its limit. and before anyone suggests taking the jeep, the wifey will be out and about in it this weekend when im planning on going to the store.
I havent loaded down my camry like this...but when I had my 92 accord back a few months back, we were doing a paper route for a few months...and for sundays deliveries we had more than 750lbs added to that car in just paper and bags. So..over 1,000lbs added to the car with papers, bags, me, wife, and the 2 kids. The handling was bad in the back like you said. Had to be careful.
and then how it normally sat.....

I loaded mine down with a grille, a ice box, coal, drinks, lots of ice, food(basically everything for a 15 ppl BBQ) and a car full of ppl. I'm guessing including the people I easily had 1200lbs in the car. It lowered around 3 inches and my car was slammed. The rear looked damn good with the IS rims HAHAHAHA
Cabs, amps, console, wires, drumkit in the trunk/backseat, remaining space taken by bandmates to go play a show 3hours away on my old Camry. I don't know the total weight but it I'm sure it was around 800lbs, the other car we had was a Ford focus (Not the wagon) with a single cab and amp in it and the suspention was squeaking like a basketball game. I was proud of my Camry.
