Gen 3 vs Gen 4 Exhaust Manifold

anyone have any insight on if one flows better than the other? the gen 4 manifold seems more like a header, whereas the gen 3 is just a typical manifold .... i believe the gen 4 is 4-1 piping, and the gen 3 is just a clusterf*ck

gen 3:

gen 4:

it would just be interesting to know if the Gen 4 placed on a Gen 3 would have any benefit - yes i realize the benefit would be minimal - i am just trying to better understand 1) why the gen 4 5SFE has more power, and 2) why the manifolds are different

its prolly a combo of stuff. that manifold is prolly one part. but i know the later 5f has a changes to the ecu, fuel maps, maby timing. all small things that come together to make a large differance. honestly dude if u have a gen4 manifold why not just give it a try?

i know a local shop owner who's looking into getting a dyno ... if all goes well, ill get some dyno runs in for stock airbox vs. SRI .... and gen 3 vs. gen 4 manifold ... but until then, im wondering if anyone already knows the answer

They're probably extremely similar, it's just that the Gen3 header has more of a shield type thing on it.
