Brakes

It's been way overdue for me to change my rear drums. They sound horrible and even worse when wet. I was wondering how much each drum went for. $100? $150? I've been thinking about doing a rear drum to disk conversion. Would this be easy? Has anyone done it before on the 3rd gen or anything similar? If so, how much did you spend? Oh and also, what are the stock light bulbs on the 3rd gen: 9005 or 9006..I'm referring to the regular beams(low) Thank You

You could do a rear brake conversion on a gen 4 camry pretty easily but im not sure about a gen 3 camry. However, there are a few people who have done conversions here on the forum. Search around and you'll find them, i believe the member called tony the tiger did it.

Thanks for the replies. I've been wanting to do the conversion for a while now cause the rear drums feel kind of weak.

I know on gen 4 camrys, it could work for gen 3's, you take the rear brakes from v6 camry or the lexus es300 and you can put them on your camry. You need the discs, calipers, lines, brake booster, and the brake cylinder/valve control thing. I forget exactly what its called. But, it controls how much pressure is sent to each brake disc or drum. Then its a simple bolt on installation that involves draining the brake fluids.
