I was wondering if you guys could help me out on this. Please read.
I was wondering if you guys could help me out on this. I got into an accident the other day and my insurance looked at the car and wants to call it a total loss and the problem is that the value they will pay is lower than what I owe on the car so I want to keep this car. The car is still a baby and it still has a lot of life left in it. So the body shop looked at it and there gonna look into it but I need some parts for the car and I'm looking on here because you guys know all the good places. In the picture you can see that I need a new Front Right Door and a Rear Right Door. I have to convince my insurance company to not consider this car a lost. Thanks.
Only option is to NOT go through insurance. If you do, they take it, and you gett he $ for the value of it (reguardless on what you owe) unless you have gap insurance.
*Edit: Other option is take the $, and do an insurance buy back on the car, get the salvage title, and fix it. As long as there is no structural damage there, it;s an easy day job to replace it all.

5 Lug Corolla WHAT?
Well, no. That isnt the only option. You could go through the insurance, have them total it out. Cut you a check for the amount minus the cost to keep the car. Then fix the car with the money you get. Then...when you show your insurance company that the car is fixed..they will put the value back on the car. I did this with my 92 accord that got totalled out. Fixed it with the remaining money (did ALL the work myself except frame straightening) and showed them. They then put the value back on the car. My insurance company is State Farm by the way.
Find out how much they are offering and how much they will take out of that amount for you to keep the car.
Also...are the doors the ONLY thing you need? Is the pillar between the doors damaged at all?

Yea head down to a pick and pull and grab some doors. Thats what i did when mine had bad rust, cost me $100 and a entire day. But if the damage is structural then its not that easy. Good luck.
if there's no structural damage try to have a body shop guy talk them into not totalling it, a totalled car is worth less money and you'll never get what you deserve for it if you try to sell it.
