98 Camry security light question

Security light...

I recently purchased a 98 camry LE. On the dash it has the security light. It doesn't light up. Is is supposed to? I have no keyless entry or anything, just straight up power locks. SO why have the light? (that doesn't light?)

Do I actually HAVE keyless entry but got screwed on the remotes?

Definitely sounds to me like you got screwed on the remotes. I have security on my '98 LE, and the only way to turn it on as far as I know is to use the remote for it. It is possible to get those remotes and get them programmed. Very handy to have. But, from the dealer they cost a WHOLE lot of money. I think that you can get them for cheaper off of ebay from someone that knows how to program them correctly.
