I am planning to buy new seats but I do not know what material should I choose from. I don't know the cons & pros between leather, cloth and vinyl. I hear that vinyl is stronger then leather and is easier to clean. But does vinyl crack during temperature change? Leather is pretty expensive but leather likes to crack easily and looks old fast. I have cloth right now but I want to have something different for a while. Does any one have experience with leather and vinyl seats?
Vinyl SUCKS, plain and simple. It cracks, feels like plastic, and in the summer it's STICKY. Leather gets hot and a little sticky but once the AC is on it's alright, Vinyl, not so much. Cloth is just good all around, and if you get racing type seats cloth will keep you from sliding around better.
Pros of leather is that it looks better, more comfortable, much easier to clean and get stains off.
Cons for leather is that it cracks way to easily, especially if it isn't taking care of, it also doesnt feel to good when it's been in the hot sun or on a really cold day.
Pros for cloth is that it lasts a while, looks good when clean, and cheap.
Cons for cloth is that when it does get stained, it's much harder to clean then leather or vinyl.
Isn't it the same with the Gen 6 as well? Because I know you can remove the cloth and install the leather seat covers in it's place.
nono, what I mean is the place you sit is leather, whilt the sides are vynal. If you ever look at a Gen 3 leather seat, the sides will be almosat mint, while the actual leather is beat to everliving shit.

Oh gotcha, I have a '94 with leather and I believe I remember seeing what you're talking about, i'll have to look at it again.
i love leather. its classy and near impossible to stain. but requiers more care, gets cold in winter and hot in summer, and it can crack if u dont take care of it. u have to get leather cuz u love leather.
My only comment is that I have a '95 LE with cloth and a '95 XLE with leather. Love the leather. Gives the car a much more "upscale" luxury feel over the cloth.
