For all of you that have put in Silverstars in your cars,

I was wondering about how long the bulbs have lasted you before they blew?

How often did you use them? I don't want to have to go through the sanding again (might get some sort of knife or something, a modeling knife didn't help when I did the mod)

I used them all the time as I did a lot of night driving. I put the same on my dads car, and I think it's over 2 years now. Just MAKE SURE you clean the bulb before you install it. the oils on your hands will kill it a lot faster. But people have been saying there are now better bulbs out thewre then the Silverstars.

I took some rubbing alcohol and cleaned them, and checked them in the light before installing them.

I touched the side a bit while installing one of them (against the lamp housing, not my hand) since the battery was in the way, though. Would that pose a problem?

Nah, I doubt it. I did the same thing an all 2 bulbs, ahha. Come to think of it, I think I may still have my Highbeams as the Silverstars. I need to check. But not like those get too much use anyway.

you talking about the silver star or the silver star ultras? i have the ultras for highs and lows.. works wonders. had them for a little over 8 months and seem to be in great working condition.
