97 oil leak camry 4cyl

My car was overeheating... i am in the process of changing the freeze plugs and heater core. however as a result of my overheating. I now have oil spewing from the top of the engine. I drove the car around the block and notices and smelled oil in the area between the radiator all the way to the oil filter area. Does any one know where this leak may have originated from? It did not start til my car overheated. is it a gasket or seal or something. Is there a quick fix for it til i can pay my mechanic to fix it? maybe one of those magic solutions in a bottle.

we can only guess without seeing it. degrease the engine and see where its coming from. the only seals at the top of the engine is the valve cover gasket, cam hear seal and head gasket. since your car overheated, check the oil and coolent to make sure they arent mixing.

oh, and i never trust those "stop leaks" that come in a bottle. i think they are just a temporary fix and can make things worse.
