Have a look at the chassis plate, it will say the plant where it was built. I don't know what advantages there are in US/Can manufacturing, except from what I've noticed, Japanese cars built in the US plants are very well screwed together. In fact, some JDM models (like my gen 3 wagon) are built in the US then shipped to Japan. That said, Japanese manufacturing is first-class too. We stopped assembling here in NZ years ago, as the local cars where nowhere as well built as the JPN sourced units. (Despite what the dealers all said!)
