3rd Generation is it possible to cahgne the shifter in a camry

Are there any shifters that are compatible with o/d on the camry, id really like to change it ya know, well please help if you can, thanks.

shifter, not that i found...even checked b&m, shit handle/kknob whatever yes, look on ebay for obx tomcat or there is one other, also other auto shift knobs will work if you relocate the od button.

u can either get a auto shift knob and do as 8ball said and relocate the OD switch which is REAL easy, ive done it. or be the first to put a universal dent or ratchet shifter in ur camry.

okay so i think im gonna rewire the o/d switch, can anyone tell me how to take everything apart. im gonna buy the knob tommorow and the on/ off switch aswell hopefullly get it done tommorow too. i think i may know how to do it from reading on here but yeah.

i had a dent/ratchet in my El Camino. i loved it mostly cuz it just sounded and felt so beefy. every shift was a solid CLUNK-click, like i was cocking a shotgun and it allowed some grear control.

ull have to remove the center console and the place around the shifter. when i did mine i actually cut down the shifter since the knob base was about a good 4 inches above the shifter base. but if u do that remember 2 things. measure twice cut once, and make sure the threaded rod in the center of the shifter is longer then the shifter so that the button on the top of the knob will be able to actually push down.

the OD u can either reuse the od switch or jsut hook it up to a 2 wire switch.
