front lca bushing, remove shim?

ok, hello all. i have a 1997 es300, same platforms as solara and other 1mz-fe engines alike. ive recently encountered a bad thumping and steering wheel jerk. so the other day i let the car sit and started destruction on the suspension. i have the ksport coilovers already installed for close to 2 years already, and was going to do the lca bushings and finally install my whiteline front swaybar with moog tie rod ends and moog swaybar endlinks. everything is fairly easy, but im a little confused on the bushings for the flca. for the rear part of the control arm, when the bushing is out, there seems to be a little shim inside. it protrudes off the lca from the top and bottom. approximately 1-2mm thickness and protrudes above and below the control arm approximately 2mm as well. am i supposed to remove the shim? or leave it when installing my energy suspension bushings.
Thank You
Charley

ok, to answer my own question. it has to be removed. i removed it, then found it on the instructions to have the shim removed.
