You can make that light turn off by unpluging the airbag control module. It is bolted to the floor underneath the radio/heat/ac controls. There is a little kick panel to the right of the driver's feet. It is behind there. All you have to do is unplug the three wire harnesses that go into that module. NOTE: This disables your airbags! But it also makes that light turn off. Or, you could have your codes read, and that will tell what is wrong with the airbag system. Probably a dirty or damaged sensor.

That may work, but I'd rather have to deal with the light then to know theres no chance at all the airbags would deploy in an accident.
My airbag light turned on for a little bit and then turned off. It hasn't come back up yet. A while later I did a OBD reading and nothing came up for it. Odd.

basic obd II scanner won't read/reset air bag or transmission codes unless they are those few thousand dollar one used by pro at shops
